All,

We had an awesome performance tonight.  Aldermaston are a very capable team and we destroyed them 20-3.  No-one is singled out tonight for playing well.  We all did great:

University v Basingstoke
27/11/2008

Great performance tonight.  Even with a team weakened by the loss of Mark Palser we very nearly took University's unbeaten record,  and if Anthony's groin hadn't gone halfway through his game i'm sure we would have done.  Special mention of Rew who put in an Epic performance - read more »

Save Basingstoke Squash Club!!!  Grant Ward | 29/02/2008 at 11:40

Most members are aware that the attendance to Sunday trianing has fallen drastically to the point that the club is now in jeopardy of closure. The general consensus from the players I have spoken with is that if it is at all possible the club should be saved.

Some members would be happy to discontinue Sunday training however it is my belief that the only reason I am still playing and improving is brecause of the training. I started from scratch and a combination of the quality training from John, the leagues, tournaments and friendly games with a rewarding social beer or 2 afterwards has kept me coming and helped me learn the game and become a compitant player. If the club were to close or Sunday training stop I believe we will stand no chance of gaining new players and eventually the courts could disapear.

I hope there are enough of you out there who would like to see the club continue and are prepared to commit to helping save the club!

Grant
